Art Nouveau

The great renewal that started in the middle of the 19th century in England, quickly spread throughout Europe and influenced almost all facets of life. The Art Nouveau concept quickly surfaced to designate the art form related to this renewed attitude to life; in German-language regions, people soon began to refer to Jugendstil. The Jugendstil from around 1900 is one of the most decorated styles. Therein, architects and designers such as Victor Horta, Berlage, and Koloman Moser have taken nature as point of departure. From that, designer Frits Schuitema derived his inspiration for the creation of the Jugendstil line. By means of concave lines in the cabinets and chairs, he added a hint of Jugendstil to the collection. The Jugendstil line is made of French oak and decorated with Wenge wood marquetry. For aficionados of this renewal style, Schuitema Furniture produces a carefully constituted collection of exclusive furniture.
